The investigation by Miami-Dade Police's narcotics bureau started in 2018, when detectives arrested Garcia on allegations of running a clandestine marijuana growhouse. Garcia's mother, Mirta Lora, is also accused of laundering money for the ring. The ring is facing charges including racketeering, conspiracies and burglary.
